This is my first post and I am super excited about blogging and becoming a Reading Coach!
I just wrapped up an intensive six-week training that my district provides for new Reading Coaches. I promised myself that this would be my week to relax and yet I am so excited that I cannot seem to stay away from working. So far today I have created binder covers for the year, organized my new flash drive, and now I have created this blog.
I have been following bloggers for many years, one of my favorites is A Teeny Tiny Teacher, but I never quite had the guts to start my own. As I go into my first year of coaching I tried searching for blogs that other reading or literacy coaches have started. What I noticed, however, is that I couldn't find coaching blogs quite as readily as other teaching blogs. That's not to say I didn't find any at all. In fact I have found some wonderful ones especially Ms. Houser, whose latest blog post is basically what inspired me to start this blog! I think it's important that us coaches start to show off what we do more and encourage the role of coaching, because from what I've seen and learned coaching is extremely powerful!
What my goal for this blog is to follow in the lead of my favorites and blog often about literacy coaching and other things I find interesting. I hope to grow and develop this blog and hope you'll come along for the journey!
